couraging me on to finish strong. I have never liked running or biking but since last Christmas I have become hooked. The discipline of getting up at a god-forsaken hour in the mornings to get my runs or biking in has also helped me to stay disciplined in my time with the Lord which is far more important than any run or bike that I may take.The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy chapter 4... train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.
I pray that God would never let me lose sight of this truth. I pray that God would empower me daily to train myself to be godly and to seek His face with great passion and zeal. Running well in a race is one thing, but running the race of faith with integrity and with God's glory as your aim is far better.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 1 Corinthians 9:23-25
